On January 30, 2020, a request for assistance from the Boys and Girls Club to purchased business suits for the Boys and Girls of Benton Franklin Counties Youth of the year 3 finalist for their competition presentations. Assistance was granted by Chief Hohenberg. This is the second year Kennewick Police Department participates in the shopping for suits. The winner is a brother to a KPD officer.

On January 29, 2020, Officer Sanders was dispatched to an assist at the Kennewick Police Station. Dispatch advised that the Community Care Fund was being requested. Upon arrival at the station, Officer Sanders contacted a female refugee in the lobby. She has been in the area for about four months. On January 27, 2020, a female called the station requesting assistance with 2 nights lodging for her and her 6-year-old daughter, reporting that she spent the last of her money to pay for lodging on 2/25 and 2/26 and is in the process of obtaining assistance for housing. On January 14, 2020, Officer Wolosin was dispatched to an assist with a call at the police station. A male had recently moved back to Kennewick and was working for two temporary agencies. He was working with the housing authority to get into an apartment but was currently living out of his vehicle. On January 14, 2020, Officers dispatched to a welfare check on a 61-year-old female. Officers learned that she had medical issues and was working with services to address that along with housing. She did not have a place to stay for the night. A motel room was provided for the night and some assistance for food.

On January 12, 2020, Officers completed a search warrant at a residence in Kennewick for a robbery investigation, with some damage to the house. A 14-year-old juvenile male was the suspect. His extended family who resided at the location, to include his 65-year-old grandmother and his 6-year-old juvenile sister, who did not have anything to do with it. Due to the extreme cold, the rest of the family was given a night at the EconoLodge.

On January 11, 2020, a female returned to the Tri-Cities after living in Oregon. She is on public assistance in Oregon and is in contact with DSHS currently to transfer residency back to Kennewick. She has three children that are in foster care and she wants to re-unite with them. She has only had few dollars and no place to stay thinking there were homeless shelters available for her.
