Due to this the male had fallen behind on his power bill, which in turn was shut off. On April 4, 2019 a School Resource officer was made aware of a family of single mother with 3 children who had a water heater go out and no means to replace it, with the likelihood of the family going for an extended period of time without access to hot water. Funds were used to purchase and install the water heater at a discounted rate through A One Refrigeration.
Case #19-11352 On April 1, 2019 officers contacted a couple who had recently become homeless. They lost their home of 19 years due to foreclosure. The female is male’s caregiver who is wheelchair bound due to numerous crippling skeletal diseases and diabetes. They have requested assistance from DSHS, HHS and Veterans Services, and are in the process of assisting them with making arrangements for housing. On May 15, 2019 Detectives were investigation a case reported by CPS. They contacted 23 year old female who had been caring for her 3 year old sister for a week. Her mother dropped the child off and by all accounts went on a drug fueled binge. Mother left nothing with the child and has not contacted them since she left the child. On March 3, 2019 officers responded to a call at Hawthorne Elementary School regarding a male lying on the sidewalk. School indicated that male had been there for a long time. They contacted a homeless male that had no place to stay. Due to the weather they transported the male to the Econolodge. Funds where use for three nights and some food for the homeless man.
On February 19, 2019 officers responded to a follow-up from a domestic violence call from the night before, they contacted the victim and her 14 year old son. They had spent the night at a friend’s house. The friend was evicted from the house, leaving victim and her son homeless. Victim requested assistance for one night because Domestic Services had obtained one month of housing but not until the next day. Officers transported her and […]
On February 11, 2019 Officers contacted a 21 year old male and 18 year old pregnant female. They had attempted to gain lodging through St. Vincent De Paul but there was a miscommunication and the lodging fell through. Funds were used for one night at Clover Island Inn. They both agreed to receive services from Lourdes Counseling services. KPD on-site Mental Health Professional contacted them with follow-up services through Lourdes.
