The responding officer recognized the boy from an earlier contact when the boy wanted to show off his new bike to the officer and wanted officer badges for his bike. On January 30, 2020, a request for assistance from the Boys and Girls Club to purchased business suits for the Boys and Girls of Benton Franklin Counties Youth of the year 3 finalist for their competition presentations. Assistance was granted by Chief Hohenberg. This is the second year Kennewick Police Department participates in the shopping for suits. The winner is a brother to a KPD officer.

A gift card was purchased for her to help with food and gas to get to and from treatments; she commutes from Mesa to the cancer center.
