On December 1, 2019 at 11:13 hours, a female called and advised that she needed some assistance with staying at a hotel. When asked why, she stated that two years ago she moved from Ocean Shores to Richland to live with her mother and stepfather to be a semi “care taker” to them. She said that she had four children ages 3, 4, 7 and 9. She told officers that she moved out to a nearby apartment but eventually had to move back in with her mother at 2100 Bellerive Drive #195. While recently living there and taking care of them, it was discovered that her 4-year-old daughter was molested by her stepfather and 7 year old daughter witnessed it. She told officers they grabbed their clothes and RPD put them up in a hotel room that night in Richland and set up a forensic interview with both girls on Tuesday, December 3rd. the RPD case number in 19-28883. She said that they paid for a room at the Guest House on Clearwater last night but had to put up a $100 damage deposit so she only had $90.00 left to her name and had to be out at 12:30 pm today. She did not know what to do and had a panic attack last night. She advised that if she could not get assistance, she would have to sleep in her car and discontinue the girl’s interviews and drive to Montana where she had relatives to stay with.  Sergeant Santoy approval for the Community Care Fund to be used. Officers purchased a $200 grocery gift card at near-by Albertsons and paid for her and her kids to stay at the Guest House on Clearwater for the week (12/01/19 to 12/07/19) for $478.52. Officers advised the female to make sure she attended the interviews and not purchase alcohol with the gift card. She assured me she would get food for the kids and thanked KPD for allowing her a few days to stay after the interviews to get ready for the trip to Montana.
