On March 9, 2020, Officer Reil contacted a female who had been a victim of Domestic Violence. The suspect, her husband, could not be located. Rather than allow her to go back to her house where the suspect would likely return, funds were used to provide her a room at GuestHouse Suites.
On February 6, 2020, Female called the station requesting assistance with housing for her and her 6- year-old child. She has been working to get permanent housing with assistance, but has been unable to get the housing as of yet. She was provided with 3 nights housing at Clover Island Inn for her and her daughter.
On January 30, 2020, a request for assistance from the Boys and Girls Club to purchased business suits for the Boys and Girls of Benton Franklin Counties Youth of the year 3 finalist for their competition presentations. Assistance was granted by Chief Hohenberg. This is the second year Kennewick Police Department participates in the shopping for suits. The winner is a brother to a KPD officer.
On November 25, 2019, a vehicle was stolen from the owner. The vehicle was later recovered with no keys for the victim and they could not afford the tow bill and get a new car key, as the keys were stolen with the car. Funds were used to pay the tow bill for the victim.
On November 21, 2019, a male got intoxicated and pointed a gun at his own head. His 13-year-old and 11-year-old children were in the home. He continued to display the gun in a reckless manner amounting to reckless endangerment. The older child ran to a neighbor and called her grandparents.
