On April 26, 2019 officers assisted the US Marshals with a wanted subject. They were multiple subjects arrested while doing the search, the wanted subject refused to come out. SWAT was call out to assist. Throughout the situation different less than lethal munitions were used including CS gas, which made the residence uncomfortable to be inside. On April 16, 2019 Sergeant Dronen followed up on the male with the two small boys. Male attended meeting with on-site Mental Health Professional and he was provided with necessary paperwork to start the process for housing. He moved from Port Orchard to Kennewick and is currently in training for a job at Goodwill. He left the apartment with no place to go. On April 4, 2019 a School Resource officer was made aware of a family of single mother with 3 children who had a water heater go out and no means to replace it, with the likelihood of the family going for an extended period of time without access to hot water. Funds were used to purchase and install the water heater at a discounted rate through A One Refrigeration.

Case #19-11352 On April 1, 2019 officers contacted a couple who had recently become homeless. They lost their home of 19 years due to foreclosure. The female is male’s caregiver who is wheelchair bound due to numerous crippling skeletal diseases and diabetes. They have requested assistance from DSHS, HHS and Veterans Services, and are in the process of assisting them with making arrangements for housing.
