On July 19, 2019 a woman brought a 6-year-old girl who lives in Walla Walla, in a home where narcotics is said to be used and the living conditions are poor. The Walla Walla Police Department looked into the matter and requested Kennewick Police Department take the child into custody until Child Protective Services could come get her. On July 16, 2019 officers made contact with a male multiple times throughout the day. He walked from Pasco to Kennewick with his 15-month old baby. After multiple contacts and attempts to get him assistance with a hotel room for the night for him and his son, he continued to refuse.
