On July 19, 2019 a woman brought a 6-year-old girl who lives in Walla Walla, in a home where
narcotics is said to be used and the living conditions are poor. The Walla Walla Police
Department looked into the matter and requested Kennewick Police Department take the child
into custody until Child Protective Services could come get her. While waiting for Child
Protective Services officers gave her stuffed animals, which she named after officer’s names.
Funds were used to purchase food for the child. She was very excited she had warm food to
eat. Child Protective Services picked her up and ensured she would be taken care of.
