On July 25, 2019 officers and mental health professional responded to a welfare check on an
elderly female at a local motel. After talking to the female for an extended amount of time it
was clear she suffered from dementia. The female was being care for by a male who got
arrested the night before. She had no way of paying for the hotel and was planning on sleeping
at the park with all her belongings. Funds were used to pay for one more night and a gift card
for Dairy Queen was given to her. Arrangements were made with Adult Protective Service to
contact her in the morning for more long-term arrangements.
