January 12, 2026 – Commander Santoy is part of organization called Bridging Resources for Anti-Violence Efforts (BRAVE). This group includes gang prevention specialists working with juveniles to assist them out of the gang lifestyle. 17-year-old juvenile male is a Kennewick juvenile working with gang prevention specialist. The specialist met male after he was involved in a gang related fight at Kamiakin High School in 2024. The juvenile male explained to specialist that he has never been formerly initiated into a gang and wanted to go a different path. The juvenile male has taken positive steps in the last year by obtaining his GED, obtaining his WA State ID and is currently working at Little Ceasar’s Pizza. The juvenile male wanted to get enrolled in a barber school but did not have the ability to pay the enrollment deposit of $520. Commander Santoy with Barbering University based out of Pasco and learned once a student is enrolled, they work with them to come up with a reasonable payment schedule for the remainder of the program. The total cost of the program is $15,000 which includes 1000 hours of instruction and completion of written/practical examinations of the WA State Board. The enrollment deposit was paid for the juvenile male, and he will track his progress through communication with the specialist.
