Case# 23-074304
On September 27, 2023 2023, Officer Quinones followed up in person with the victim of this case.
Officer Quinones informed him that he had exhausted all leads to a suspect in his case. Victim disclosed
to him that he has been out of work the last year or so with a condition he was diagnosed with involving
numbness in the legs, and also suffers from diabetes. He said him and his wife had been saving up for
the mattress that was stolen from them documented under this original case. They had previously
purchased the box springs for the mattress. He told Officer Quinones that his wife works as a
housekeeper traveling within the Tri-Cities and Yakima areas, making their financial situation somewhat
difficult. The day their mattress was stolen, they had just purchased it from Costco and stopped by Wal-
Mart for grocery shopping with their two younger daughters.
Officer Quinines believed the male’s and his family circumstances were proper in making use of the
Community Care Fund to purchase a replacement mattress for them. Officer Quinones met them at
Kennewick Costco after he was done with his physical therapy session nearby. Officer Quinones
purchased the original mattress for him and his family utilizing the community care fund. The family was
very grateful and appreciative to the Kennewick Police Department.
