Case# 23-073811
On September 21, 2023, Officer Ramos was dispatched for an Assist. Upon arrival, he contacted the
business owner, who advised a female, had arrived at her business asking for assistance. They could only
communicate briefly, as she only spoke Spanish. The owner of the business gathered that the female
needed help and appeared in duress.
Officer Ramos contacted the female who advised she travelled here from Calistoga, CA. She explained
she is fleeing from her abusive husband. She described the relationship to be abusive, both mentally and
physically. She advised a friend from Washington was able to get her a job in Prescott, WA where she
intended to travel to, but ran out of gas. Her closest relative is her sister in Las Vegas, NV who was not
able to assist her. She advised she took her simple possessions and left as quick as she could without her
husband knowing. She advised her husband has been attempting to contact her, but she has ignored
him. Officer Ramos observed she had very little in her truck. She also provided me a business card for
Sgt. Rodolfo Alaniz with the Calistoga Police Department, where she reported the abusive relationship.
She also advised she has been staying at “Casa de Esperanza” or “House of Faith”, which is a DV shelter
in Yuba City, CA. She provided him the business card of the shelter. She advised she had to leave, as she
was fearful her husband would find her there. She was also in contact with Daniela Flores, a DV
Advocate for N.E.W.S, Nurturing Empowerment Worth Safety, DV Center in California. She was very
emotional while explaining the situation to Officer Ramos.
She advised she is working through her situation and only needed fuel to get to Prescott, WA. Officer
Ramos elected to utilize the Community Care Fund to fill her tank of gas.
