On 06/05/2022 at approximately 1541 hours Officer Hannnah was dispatched to an auto theft that had just occurred at 3910 W 27th Ave Kennewick, Shortly after this call was dispatched, another call came out saying there was a single vehicle collision at W 45th Ave and SEly St. The vehicle’s license plate matched the one just stolen he arrived and found the white Dodge Ram truck sideways in the middle of the road. The truck was not able to move due to the broken wheel on the right side. It had folded on to the side and was going to need a tow truck. The registered owner arrived to the location and was immediately distraught. He told officers he had just paid for the truckand it was all that he had. He was immediately emotional and did not know how he was going to pay for the damage and the tow. His vehiclehad just been stolen and it was understandable why he would be so emotional. Due to the circumstances, officers felt the community care fund would help this victim pay for a tow and have it sent to his house. He was very appreciative and we had Mel’s Towing respond.
