October 9th, 2020

On October 9, 2020, an officer was dispatched to a Community Care Fund assist. Contact was made with a female. She advised that she was currently staying at the Motel 6 but did not have any funds to pay for the night.  Bonner stated that she is pregnant and does not feel safe sleeping on street.  Bonner stated that she tried to contact the Salvation Army and the mission for assistance. The Salvation Army stated they would not be able to assist until sometime next week. The mission told her that they just had a COVID outbreak so they are not taking anyone new until they can clean.  Female was advised to contact 211 and see if they could offer her any assistance. She was told to call me back if they were unable to help. She called back and advised that they would be able to provide assistance on Monday, but not over the weekend. The officer used the community care fund to purchase a room at the Econo Lodge for Bonner through Tuesday.  She was advised that she would be responsible for any damage to the room.
