Community Care Cases

On September 4, 2018 a female contacted Sergeant Dronen. She fled a domestic situation in
Idaho to the Tri-Cities. She is in the process of getting housing and has a job interview on 9/06.
She has two children and has enrolled them in school. She had enough money for food and gas
but has no money for temporary lodging. Family member assisted with several nights at a local
hotel but could not assist any further. Female and two children camped out during the
weekend but had nowhere else to go. Four nights were purchased at Clover Island until she
could complete her interview, housing situation and so the children could continue going to
school.

On September 4, 2018 Officers responded to a call where an elderly disable female has an
electric wheelchair secured at her church. Two juvenile males stole the wheelchair and
damaged it. The wheelchair was recovered and the suspects charged but the wheelchair
needed repairs. Victim had no money to pay for the repairs and the repair company warned
they had to right to sell the wheelchair and they would if she did not pay. The bill was paid in
full and was forwarded to the arresting officer for restitution.
