Officer Contreras was working on the Outreach Program throughout the City of Kennewick, the goal of the outreach program is to offer services for housing, SUD, employment, crisis health services and more. He is traditionally accompanied by employees of the Housing Resource Center, Kadlec Outreach and Crisis. Whie out around Fruitland Park they encountered a 73-year-old female living in her car. She advised she had recently lost her housing and was looking for resources in the area. She was informed of the possibility of housing and informed her she would need to go to the opposite side of town to go into the housing office. She expressed her financial burden and informed Officer Contreras she had very little fuel in her vehicle. Officer Contreras offered her assistance with fueling her vehicle if she drove it to the gas station. The tank was filled to alleviate some of the financial burden while attempting to find housing.
