On February 20, 2024, Officer Gardaya riding with Patrol Training Officer Sagen. At approximately, 0116
hours Officer Gardaya assisted Officer Holden with a field. Officer Holden advised Officer Gardaya that
he was going to be utilizing the community care fund for the female fleeing a domestic situation. The
female was outside with her daughter. The weather was extremely cold and they had been standing
outside the with fire department for multiple hours. When Officers contacted the two individuals the
child appeared to be cold and the female was shaking. Officer Holden advised that the female was
waiting for a friend to pick her up but had been waiting outside with her child for a while. Officers drove
the female and child to La Quinta Inn in Kennewick. Officers purchased a one-night stay for the female
and her daughter.
