On 01/01/2023, at around 1833 hours, a female apartment caught on fire. The female and her dog Lola were able to make it out of thehouse uninjured. She lost all of her clothing, shoes, pictures, furniture and other family memorabilia. Her neighbor is temporarily taking herin while she looks for a new place to live. Officer Duty contacted by Sergeant Thatsana who was advised of the devastating loss to thiscommunity member and he suggested using the Community Care Fund to assist the female. On 01/02/2023, the female was taken to a localstore where she was assisted in getting food and hygiene products. She was extremely thankful for the assistance. On 01/02/2023, Chief Guerrero contacted me and advised that he had been advised of what had taken place and provided me with four $50.00 gift cards, to assist her. The female was taken shopping to replace food and hygiene items that had burned up in her residential fire.She was very thankful for the help.
