October 1, 2022On 09/29/2022 at 1840 hours, Officer J Campbell was dispatched to an assist call related to a domestic disturbance. The female caller, is married to the other party in this situation. She told Officer Campbell that she and the male have been having marital issues and he was arrested in Yakima County early this morning for driving under the influence. She responded to take custody of the vehicle he was driving but Yakima County did not book the male into jail so she also picked him up at the Yakima County station. She also said that they have had previous domestic violence problems to include an assault but not for a few years. The male demanded she give him the keys to thevehicle and she would not give them to him as he was most likely still intoxicated. She was able to separate from the male, as he was gettingirate. The female and her mother drove both vehicles back to Kennewick, leaving him in Granger. She was very scared that he would get home and become violent. Officer Campbell explained to her that there wasn’t any crimes to intervene upon but he offered her a hotel room using the Community Care Fund and she seemed to be very relieved and appreciative.
She was placed at Clover Island Inn for one night for her and her son.
