On July 26, 2019 officers and mental health professional followed up with the elderly female at
the hotel because she is considered a health risk because of her dementia and other health
issues. Her care giver was still in jail and Adult Protective Services had not made contact with
her. She could not remember where her caregiver was and talked about leaving the hotel
because they could not afford being there. She told them she was going to go stay with her
friend, after some investigation it was determined the friend lives in Florida. It was also
determined she has diabetes and other health issues that could severely compound by her
dementia. In an effort to ensure she got the help from Adult Protective Services they decided to
pay for additional nights at the hotel so she had a place to stay and Adult Protective Service
could find her and assist her. They advised the female they would continue to check up on her
until she got the help from Adult Protective Service.
