Community Care Cases

On July 30, 2018 Officers were contacted by an employee at Lourdes Detox. A patient was
struggling with addiction and wanted help. The patient’s family lives in Seattle and wanted to
help but had no means to come to Tri-Cities to take the patient. Lourdes asked for assistance
from the Community Care, a bus ticket was purchase for the next morning. Patient stayed at
the detox center overnight and staffed transported that patient to the bus the next day.

On July 30, 2018 Officer Duty was contacted by a female asking for assistance for a few days.
Female, husband (veteran) and an infant were homeless. Husband has recently lost his job and
is actively looking for employment. She was hopeless and nowhere to go. Family members had
helped with a week at a local motel but family could longer help. A few nights were purchased
at Days Inn to ensure the safety of the child, the car had no air conditioner. After getting them
into the hotel the family was transported to Safeway to purchase some groceries. Family hopes
that they can repay the department sometime in the future. On August 1st family called back
asking for two more nights and that husband had found a job.
