Community Care Cases

On August 14, 2018 Officers McGee and Harrington were contacted by Oregon State Patrol to
assist with a death notification. The victim worked for Umatilla County, Oregon as a Highway
Construction Flagger. While working on Route 11 she was struck by a DUI driver and died. The
victim’s husband was very distraught when the news was delivered. He advised he could not
work due to medical conditions and his wife had been working so they could have income
coming in. He advised he had no cell phone. Officers wanted to assist him in his time of need; a
Tracfone flip phone was purchased along with 200 minute time card so he could use it to get his
deceased wife’s affairs in order.
