On March 12, 2026, Officer Severson was dispatched to assist a female who was requesting assistance with housing. Officer Severson contacted the female who stated she is going through a divorce which has made her homeless. She informed Officer Severson she has contacted Housing Authority who approved her housing and was solely waiting for an approval with an apartment complex. She stated she had applied for Herron Lake, McMurry, and the Stone Gates apartments. In addition, the female is working as a care giver to help provide for her four children, which she has sole custody of. Given the circumstances Officer Severson elected to place the family in a local hotel room for a week.
