November 3, 2025On October 27, 2025, Officer Contreras, the Community Officer and liaison officer for the courts, used funds to assist a mental health court participant who is currently in her fourth and final phase the program and in the last trimester of her pregnancy. She has been doing well working on herself. Recently graduating court orders, diligently making strides in her recovery, attending counseling and she is finding a purpose driven life through her volunteer efforts at Mirror Ministries; all while striving for her recovery goals at nearly 10 months clean and sober. During a recent home visit the team noticed large amounts of dog hair and urine stains on the second story carpet landing just outside of her bedroom. The odor of pet urine was described as pungent and could be smelled from the first floor. A carpet cleaning was needed because she is no longer living her life just for herself, she is living it for future child as well. This assistance helped create a space that reflects all the hard work she has done for her life, recovery and her family’s future. I believe by providing this carpet cleaning service to reduce the germs and allergens, we provided an environment of order and calm, which is vital for her well-being as well as her son’s.
