On August 26, 2019, Sergeant Jackson was dispatch to a call of a female who requested contact
regarding needing assistance. He contacted the female, her disabled father and four children
who had recently been displaced from their home after the owner failed to renew their lease
when they were not able to afford his proposed increase in rent. She advised she had been
paying for a hotel room but has run out of money. When asked her plan she stated she had
been working with Work Source regarding employment, DSHS regarding HUD Housing
programs and with Goodwill in an effort to secure housing. She had been approved for housing
through Goodwill and is on the waiting list for HUD. She also stated she had funds for basic
needs but was in need of some assistance with a place to stay during the transition. Funds were
used to purchase 5 nights at Kennewick Suites where she and her family had been staying.
